Richard Ford: Is literature about ”understanding”? Does that make sense to you?
Nam Le: No, that doesn’t make sense to me.
Ford: Oh, good. I’m so happy.
Le: You shouldn’t take any comfort in that—a lot of things don’t make sense to me.
Ford: I take my comfort where I take my comfort.
I morgon ska jag träffa Nam Le. Efter att ha läst Båten har jag massor av frågor. Men som vanligt hinner jag väl bara ställa hälften. Någon gång i framtiden hoppas jag även få en pratstund med Richard Ford.
